7-17-07 Lucky - TB who spent 5 yrs not leaving his barn. He had only been moved from stall to stall, conditions were very poor due to elderly owner not being able to care for him properly. He needed medical attention & getting used to being handled & going out. 12-30-07 - He's recovering well since surgically removing the undropped testical, he's gained approx. 250-300 lbs since surgery.Vet fee's for surgery & farm calls was $1665!! 12-03-09 ~ RIP Lucky ~ His weight and arthritis were not improving, with winter coming on, he was already having trouble with the cold (even blanketed & with lots of feed), his age didn't help. Tough decision, but we had to euthanise to keep him from suffering. We're glad he had opne good year of just being able to graze, eat and enjoy being a horse.
Titan - 10 yr old TW gelding. Titan is blind in one eye from an old injury. He has a great disposition, and gets along well despite the vision loss. We have ridden him trails, and in a local parade. He does best riding with another horse in new situations to help guide him on the blind side. He isn't a rocket, much prefers to mosey along. He's a big guy, 16H. Great for farrier and loads pretty well. Above left photo is waiting to line up for the All Horse Parade in October. Left photo is from a trail ride in November.
